Here’s a Canadian country treasure that serious collectors of northern folk and country should take notice of. Gary Fjellgaard’s “No Time To Lose” represents a pivotal moment in the Saskatchewan singer-songwriter’s career, capturing him at the height of his storytelling powers during the mid-80s Canadian country renaissance. Fjellgaard, often called the “prairie troubadour,” had already established himself as one of Canada’s most authentic folk-country voices by this point, and this album showcases his ability to weave narratives about prairie life, working-class struggles, and the changing Canadian landscape with remarkable precision.
