Saxophonist and Ivor Novello-nominated composer Alex Hitchcock presents Letters from Afar, a bold New York-recorded album reflecting his dialogue with Black American music. Engaging deeply with jazz’s political legacy and lineage, Hitchcock fuses UK-rooted creativity with NYC’s restless innovation-melding powerful improvisation with urgent, shape-shifting compositions that challenge and expand the form.
