More European in presentation and overall sound, Angerot’s midwest roots provide more heft in the backbone of their riffs than their Eastern counterparts, and while the band continue to flirt with more black metal aesthetics, the foundation is certainly grounded in death metal. One thing that continues to remain a constant in the band’s sound is the ever-present grinding cacophony of the HM-2. The band even evolved in this manner beginning on their last album The Divine Apostate, when they partnered with Harvey Audio to create their own HM-2 influenced pedal called the Chainsaw.
