Here’s a Canadian pressing of Little Feat’s sophomore masterpiece “Sailin’ Shoes,” originally released in 1972 but pressed here in 1979 during the height of the band’s posthumous recognition. This album captures Lowell George at his absolute peak as both a songwriter and slide guitarist, featuring the swampy groove of the title track and the heartbreaking “Willin'” – a song that became George’s calling card and was covered by everyone from Linda Ronstadt to the Grateful Dead. The interplay between George’s bottleneck guitar work and Roy Estrada’s bass lines creates that distinctive Little Feat pocket that influenced countless Southern rock and jam bands that followed.
