2015 debut album by this band fronted by Andrew Ranken, who is best-known as the drummer and occasional vocalist with The Pogues. Reach Out, Hold On showcases the band’s tight, danceable, driving R&B, blues, rock ‘n’ roll and country sound. Recorded at the Cow Shed studios – London’s equivalent to Muscle Shoals – Reach Out, Hold On delivers the band’s distinctive live stripped-down feel. The album features both original tracks – the soulful passionate title track is the stand-out – and rare and classic covers. This band is the real thing, offering the sound of the ’60s blues boom but with nothing ‘retro’ about it. Intense, authentic, gravel-voiced vocals from veteran R&B singer, and renowned drummer, Andrew Ranken. Beautiful Peter Green-style lyricism and drive from John Roster on lead guitar, and astounding, virtuoso keyboard work from Joe Korner on piano and Hammond. A spot-on funky rhythm section with backing vocals from the wonderful Hubcaps.
